What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was resolved by order TNL-26622-20 issued on January 18, 2021. The Tenant requested a review of the order, alleging he was not reasonably able to participate in the December 1, 2020 hearing, and that the January 18, 2021 order contains a serious error(s).

The ruling

The Tenant's request to review the January 18, 2021 order was granted. The L1 application was reheard de novo. The Tenant was ordered to pay $24,440.82 in rent arrears and application fees to the Landlords, with a repayment plan of $1,038.55 per month towards arrears starting June 1, 2021, plus monthly rent payments. If the Tenant fails to make any of the required payments, the Landlords may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant.
