What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant had indicated that a government agency was paying the rent, but the Landlord stopped receiving such payments after September 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022. The Tenant must pay $838.57 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $4.57 per day starting February 2, 2022 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant pays $1,159 on or before February 28, 2022, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
