What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants for personal use of the rental unit. The Landlord also claimed compensation for unpaid utility costs. The Tenants had already vacated the unit by the hearing date, so the Landlord proceeded only with the claim for unpaid water expenses.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $4,464.39, which includes $4,278.39 for unpaid water expenses and $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If not paid by April 1, 2023, interest will start accruing at 5% annually from April 2, 2023.
