What happened

Landlords applied for termination of tenancy and eviction due to non-payment of rent (L1 Application) and serious impairment of safety and wilful damage to the premises (L2 Application). The tenant failed to pay rent arrears and admitted to damaging the unit door.

The ruling

The tenancy will be terminated unless the tenant pays $3,301.91 by July 31, 2022. The tenant must also pay $791.00 for door repairs by August 6, 2022. The tenant is given conditions to continue the tenancy, including refraining from causing damage and notifying the landlords of any damage within seven days.
