What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2020. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before February 12, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $15,770.91, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from April 1, 2020 to February 1, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $57.53 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from February 2, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out of the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by February 12, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
