What happened
Tenants applied for an order determining that Landlords failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The tenancy commenced on December 1, 2019 and terminated in August 2020. The Tenants claimed they had to pay an exterminator $375 to spray the rental unit and exterior for ants, and they sought reimbursement of that cost and the $50 application fee.
The ruling
The Tenant's application is dismissed. The Landlords did not breach their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
