What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. The Tenant had vacated the rental unit on April 30, 2022, prior to the hearing date. The Landlord amended their application to an L9 application solely for arrears of rent and the filing fee.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $3,114.00, which includes rent arrears and the cost of the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 30, 2022, interest will start to accrue at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance from October 31, 2022.
