What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the Board. The tenants failed to pay the October 2021 rent in full and the $200 towards arrears as required.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 18, 2021. The tenants must pay the landlord $2,439.97 (less any payments made after the application was filed) for rent owing up to December 7, 2021 and the costs of the previous application. The tenants must also pay $25.81 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting December 8, 2021 until they move out. If the full amount is not paid by December 18, 2021, the tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
