What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed and did not pay any rent in April, May, and June 2020. The parties agreed that the Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 16, 2020.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,813.78 in rent arrears and $190.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $3,003.78. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 31, 2020, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest calculated at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance starting January 1, 2021.
