What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on January 6, 2021 with respect to application CEL-94403-20.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 9, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $18,283.66, which represents the outstanding rent arrears and costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $147.95 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting March 30, 2021 until the date they vacate. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by April 9, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
