What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlords harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with them and entered the rental unit illegally. The Landlord had illegally entered the Tenants' rental unit and covered their security cameras, leaving the Tenants under stress and fearful of the Landlord. As a result, the Tenants did not remain in the rental unit for the remainder of the month of June when vacant possession was provided to the Landlord.

The ruling

The Landlord shall pay the Tenant $818.24 as an abatement of 12 days' rent from June 18-30, and $45.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $863.24. The Landlord may deduct this amount from any arrears that may be claimed.
