What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had not paid the total rent required from September 1, 2020 to February 28, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective September 30, 2021 due to the arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $16,998.28 on or before that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay $17,344.57 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 15, 2022, plus $47.75 per day starting February 16, 2022, until they move out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If the unit is not vacated by February 28, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting March 1, 2022.
