What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent and because the landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of February 28, 2021, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $679.16, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to February 28, 2021. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 23, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
