What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant stated that he lost his job and had difficulty paying the full rent on his own after his relationship ended. The Tenant found new employment but was still behind on rent.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 21, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $14,041 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $190 in application fees, by November 21, 2020 to void the eviction order. If the Tenant does not pay by the deadline, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
