What happened

Tenants filed T2 and T6 applications regarding maintenance issues in the rental unit, including a broken window and faulty window cranks. The landlord was ordered to repair or replace the windows within 30 days.

The ruling

The landlord is ordered to fully repair or replace the windows in the master bedroom, living room, second floor back bedroom and front bedroom by July 22, 2020. If the landlord does not complete the repairs, the tenants are authorized to deduct $100 from the monthly rent until the repairs are done. The landlord is also ordered to pay the tenants $50 for the cost of filing the application.
