What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenants raised issues regarding flooring. The female Tenant had already vacated the unit. The male Tenant's son, girlfriend, and two infant grandchildren had moved in, causing water consumption to triple. The Tenant did not have a definitive plan to address the arrears in a timely manner.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 31, 2015, unless Tenants void the order by paying $2,280.00 by that date. Tenants must pay $885.21 for rent arrears and compensation, plus $29.59 per day from May 21, 2015, until they move out. Tenants also owe $170.00 for application filing costs. If full payment is not made by May 31, 2015, Landlords may file for eviction enforcement.
