What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on December 30, 2020. The Tenants did not pay the required rent arrears or rent by the deadline.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 30, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlords $18,404.02, which includes rent arrears up to March 19, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $73.97 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting March 20, 2021 until they move out. If the full amount is not paid by March 30, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
