What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Landlord's requirement of the rental unit for personal residential occupation. The Landlord served the Tenant with a valid N12 Notice of Termination.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 20, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $7,043.40 in compensation for use of the unit from December 1, 2020 to August 9, 2021, and an additional $27.95 per day from August 10, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 20, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
