What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's written notice to terminate the tenancy. The Tenant had initially provided a notice to terminate the tenancy on December 31, 2020, but later requested an extension to January 31, 2021, which the Landlord agreed to. However, the Tenant did not vacate the rental unit by the agreed upon termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by March 19, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $201 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay by March 19, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the balance.
