What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Superintendents due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the Superintendents did not void by paying the arrears. The Superintendents were in possession of the rental unit on the application date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective November 1, 2021. The Superintendents must pay the Landlord $4,400.32 in rent arrears and application costs, plus $21.34 per day in compensation starting October 22, 2021 until they vacate the unit. If the Superintendents do not pay the full amount by November 1, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
