What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent and substantial interference. Tenant requested an adjournment, which was denied. Landlords proved Tenant owed $12,692.25 in rent arrears as of the hearing date. Tenant claimed he paid cash for some months but could not provide evidence. Landlords denied receiving any cash payments.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $12,878.25 by July 31, 2022 or $14,828.25 by August 31, 2022 to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay, they must vacate by August 31, 2022 and pay $9,802.75 to the Landlord plus daily compensation of $64.11 from July 14, 2022 until move-out.
