What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. The tenants had paid all the rent arrears up to September 30, 2022 by the hearing date, so the landlord did not seek eviction.

The ruling

The tenants are ordered to pay the landlord $186 for the application filing fee. If the tenants do not pay the full amount by October 18, 2022, they will start owing interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
