What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to pay utilities since February 2020, tampering with smoke detectors, smoking in the rental unit, and engaging in disruptive and erratic behavior.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 24, 2020, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $175 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owed by October 24, 2020, the Tenant will start owing simple interest at 0% annually on the outstanding balance starting October 25, 2020. If the unit is not vacated by October 24, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement starting October 25, 2020.
