What happened

Landlord applied for an order to require Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on February 3, 2021 without giving proper notice.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated on March 31, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $8,568.84, which represents the rent arrears up to March 31, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant shall also pay $201.00 for the application filing cost. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 11, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
