What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous mediated settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 18, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $1,622.41, which represents the rent arrears and costs, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $70.68 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting August 8, 2020 until they vacate. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 18, 2020, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
