What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay for damages caused to the rental unit. The Landlord provided evidence of significant damage to the rental unit, including to the pot lights, drywall, doors, cabinets, and walls.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $4,750 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage to the rental unit, as well as $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by November 9, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
