What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order to pay the rent arrears by a certain date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 1, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $8,182.54 in rent arrears and daily compensation of $42.74 per day starting July 22, 2023 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 1, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
