What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2021. The Tenant must move out by that date. The amount the Landlord is holding for the rent deposit and interest exceeds the amount the Tenant owes for compensation by $429.55. The Landlord is authorized to offset the compensation amount of $35.59 per day from March 18, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out. If the unit is not vacated by April 30, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement starting May 1, 2021.
