What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent and meet conditions specified in a previous LTB order. The Tenant did not pay $2,000 towards arrears by December 1, 2022, and did not pay the lawful monthly rent due on December 1, 2022, as required by the previous order.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the unit by March 27, 2023. The Tenant is ordered to pay $10,888.33 to the Landlord for rent arrears up to March 16, 2023, plus $46.75 per day from March 17, 2023, until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by March 27, 2023, interest will be charged at 5% annually from March 28, 2023.
