What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on January 31, 2021 and did not pay $3,073.34 of the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from December 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $1,532.61, which represents the amount of rent owing up to January 31, 2021. The Tenant shall also pay to the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before August 9, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
