What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant had not paid the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from May 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective August 14, 2020, the date the Tenant returned vacant possession to the Landlord. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,273.35, which represents $2,083.35 in arrears and the application filing fee of $190.00. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 15, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
