What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from May 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective June 9, 2021. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay $3,247.47 in rent arrears and compensation up to January 7, 2022, plus $17.69 per day from January 8, 2022, until move-out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. The eviction order can be voided if the Tenant pays $3,828.00 by January 18, 2022.
