What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on March 31, 2021, but did not pay the full rent for the period from August 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,477.02, which represents the rent owing up to April 30, 2021, less the last month's rent deposit and interest on the deposit. The Tenants are also ordered to pay the $201.00 application fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 13, 2021, they will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
