What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to the Tenants committing an illegal act and seriously impairing the safety of another person in the residential complex.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 26, 2022. The Tenants must move out of the rental unit on or before October 26, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $110.68, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from September 17, 2022 to October 18, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit plus the Landlord's cost of filing the application. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord compensation of $36.16 per day for the use of the unit starting October 19, 2022 until the date the Tenants move out of the unit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by October 26, 2022, they will start to owe simple interest calculated from October 27, 2022 at 4.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
