What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had not paid the total rent required from May 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective September 21, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $18,438.80 to the Landlord or to the Board in trust on or before February 15, 2022. The Tenant must move out by February 15, 2022, if payment is not made. The Tenant is ordered to pay $14,069.02 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 4, 2022, plus $73.20 per day starting February 5, 2022, until the Tenant moves out. The eviction order expires on August 16, 2022, if not filed with the Sheriff.
