What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlords served an N8 notice on August 17, 2021. The Tenants had not paid rent in full by the first of the month twelve times in twelve months and were in arrears of more than $6,000.00.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 21, 2022. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by this date and pay $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by February 21, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually from February 22, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by February 21, 2022, the Landlords may file this order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for eviction enforcement starting February 22, 2022.
