What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. The tenants had not paid rent from September 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 15, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $2,999.34 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $175 in application fees, and $8.84 per day in compensation starting August 5, 2020 until they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by August 15, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
