What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent, as well as for other reasons including substantial interference, illegal activity, serious impairment, and wilful damage. The Landlord served various notices to the Tenants, but the Tenants did not resolve the issues.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 15, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $10,264.22, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and application fees, less the rent deposit and interest owed. The Tenants can void the eviction order by paying $12,591.50 on or before August 15, 2020.
