What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the previous consent order. The Tenants did not meet the conditions specified in the consent order to pay the rent arrears and current rent.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 15, 2022. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $4,686 in rent arrears and $49.32 per day in compensation for use of the unit from December 1, 2021 until the Tenants vacate. If the full amount is not paid by January 15, 2022, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
