What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 23, 2021. The Tenants must move out by April 3, 2021. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $21,046.78, which represents compensation for use of the unit from October 1, 2020 to March 23, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord $147.95 per day for compensation for use of the unit from March 24, 2021 until they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by April 3, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
