What happened
Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlords harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant, substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex by the Tenant or by a member of the Tenant's household and withheld or deliberately interfered with the reasonable supply of a vital service, care service, or food that the Landlords are obligated to supply under the tenancy agreement; and failed to meet the Landlords' maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
The ruling
The parties consented to an order where the Landlords will pay the Tenant $35,000 in 3 installments, return the $650 last month rent deposit, and the tenancy will be terminated on November 30, 2021. The Tenant has the right to collect the full amount if any breach of payment, and the Landlords will owe 2% annual interest on any outstanding balance.
