What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that the Landlords failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006. The Tenant alleged that the Landlords failed to clean up debris, including nails, from renovations on the roof, which resulted in the Tenant's tire being punctured.

The ruling

The Landlords are ordered to pay the Tenant $351.21, which represents a portion of the costs the Tenant incurred replacing the damaged tire because of the Landlords' failure to maintain the residential complex. The Landlords are also ordered to pay the Tenant $45.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $396.21.
