What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to undue damage to the premises, illegal use of the rental unit, and impairment of safety. The Landlord discovered the Tenant was renting out the unit to unauthorized occupants and the unit was found to contain alleged stolen merchandise.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 20, 2021. The Tenants must move out by that date and pay the Landlord $4,261.68 in compensation for use of the unit, plus $19.73 per day from July 16, 2021 until they move out, and $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by July 20, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
