What happened

Landlords applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed and for possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on April 30, 2020, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The L2 application for possession was dismissed as the Tenants had already vacated the rental unit. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $11,701 in rent arrears and $186 in application filing fees. If the full amount is not paid by July 31, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
