What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant and Unauthorized Occupant due to alleged damage to the rental unit and safety concerns. The Tenant had transferred occupancy to the Unauthorized Occupant without authorization.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlords and Tenant was terminated on July 31, 2020. The Unauthorized Occupant is ordered to move out by September 25, 2020 and pay the Landlords $2,086.19 for use of the unit from August 1, 2020 to September 18, 2020, plus $42.58 per day from September 19, 2020 until the date they move out. The Unauthorized Occupant must also pay the $201 application fee. If the full amount is not paid by September 25, 2020, the Unauthorized Occupant will owe interest at 2% on the outstanding balance.
