What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on August 31, 2021 and did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from July 1, 2021 to August 31, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,285.78, which represents the amount of rent minus the rent deposit owing up to August 31, 2021. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by November 30, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
