What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the rental unit will undergo repairs or renovations that are so extensive they require vacant possession and a building permit.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 19, 2021, and the Tenant must move out by that date. The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 19, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. If the unit is not vacated by October 19, 2021, the Landlords may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction.
