What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to undue damage to the rental unit, substantial interference with the Landlord's reasonable enjoyment, and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants vacated the unit prior to the hearing.
The ruling
The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,500 for the reasonable costs of repairing the undue damage to the rental unit, as well as $186 for the application filing fee. If the full amount is not paid by January 28, 2022, the Tenants will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
