What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord also applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of September 2, 2020, the date the Tenants vacated the rental unit. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $11,302.54, which represents the rent arrears and compensation up to September 2, 2020, as well as $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by September 13, 2020, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
