What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the Board.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 5, 2021, and the Tenants must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $24,190 in rent arrears and application fees, plus $65.75 per day in compensation starting January 26, 2021 until the date they vacate the unit. If the full amount is not paid by February 5, 2021, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
